Course objectives
This course aims to train and certify personnel specialized in the application of the IPC A-600 standard, “Acceptability of Printed Boards”. Printed board and electronics manufacturers (EMS/OEM) rely on this globally recognized standard to assess the quality requirements of printed boards, both at incoming acceptance and during their production.
The course program is designed to improve understanding of the quality criteria required for the acceptance and evaluation of printed boards, covering both externally and internally observable conditions. The IPC A-600 training program developed by IPC is internationally recognized throughout the electronics manufacturing industry.

Course program
The course is entirely theoretical and strictly follows the training program defined by IPC, both in the teaching material presented and in the assessment tests. Participants receive all the information needed to distinguish acceptance and rejection conditions for the various product classes.
The course duration depends on the chosen certification:
- CIS | Certified IPC Specialist — the course takes place over 3 days, for a total of 24 hours
- CIT | Certified IPC Trainer — the course takes place over 4 days, for a total of 32 hours
- CSE | Certified Standards Expert — the course takes place over 4 days, for a total of 32 hours
- Module 1
Scope and application of the IPC A-600 standard - Module 2
Externally observable characteristics - Module 3
Internally observable characteristics - Module 4
Miscellaneous — Cleaning and Soldering
Who is the course for?
Quality control operators and inspectors, quality engineers, buyers and anyone who uses the standard in their work, both in printed board manufacturing companies and in electronic assembly companies (OEM/EMS).
Available certification levels:
