Video clips support the theory sessions, to improve understanding of the operations to be performed. Participants receive all the theoretical and practical information needed to carry out rework, repair and modification of electronic assemblies. Two boards are used for the practical exercises. On the first, participants practice the rework techniques learned in the classroom; the second is used to assess the skill level achieved in reworking the individual components.

The course duration depends on the chosen certification:

CIS | Certified IPC Specialist

CSE | Certified Standards Expert

CIT | Certified IPC Trainer

Module 1
Introduction and common procedures

Module 2
Wire splicing procedures

Module 3
Conformal coating removal procedures

Module 4
Removal and soldering of PTH components

Module 5
Removal and soldering of chip and MELF components

Module 6
Removal and soldering of gull-wing components: SOIC, SOT, QFP

Module 7
Removal and soldering of J-lead components

Module 8
BGA removal and soldering procedures (reballing)

Module 9
Printed board laminate repair

Module 10
Repair of printed board pads and conductors

Final exam

For the certificate to be issued, an online test is scheduled at the end of Module 1, in which participants must answer at least 70% of the questions correctly.
